Minimum Lock Stile Requirement (If not a flat panel):
- Mortise with 25mm backset: 46mm
- Mortise with 30mm backset: 48mm
- Mortise with 35mm backset: 53mm
- Mortise with 40mm backset: 58mm
- Mortise with 45mm backset: 63mm
- Mortise with 60mm backset: 78mm

Faceplate Dimensions: 36x345mm

These measurements identify the feasibility of replacing an existing lock.

Door Thickness
The most common door thickness in Australia is 35-38mm.

Backset

Maximum Lock Stile

Ignore this if your door is completely a flat panel.

Faceplate Dimensions
The physical size of the lock on the door surface.
Pay attention to this if you are replacing your existing lock or want to cover an unpainted surface.
It is much easier to replace a smaller faceplate with a larger faceplate.
